5. Magnetic Doorways

Doorways

You can exit at either end of any curtain panel whether it is sealed to a wall, support column or to another curtain panel. When two curtain panels come together to form a doorway they overlap by 1 inch or the width of the binding. We have a special method for sealing panel-to-panel doorways using fiberglass rods and very powerful neodymium magnets.

Powerful Neodymium Magnets & Fiberglass Rods

These are NOT ordinary refrigerator magnets. Our rare-earth magnets are freakishly strong and seal doorways. You MUST ORDER enough magnets to space them every 12-18 inches depending upon your wind conditions. Read Warning! Fiberglass rods insert vertically up into the side bindings to distribute the load on the magnets and complete the seal between magnets.

Magnet Warning!

For the most part these magnets are embedded in the side binding of the curtain and pose little risk, but we want you and yours safe!

Small Children

If a small child decided to eat a magnet, it would likely pass. However, if the child decided it was tasty enough to eat another, the magnets could pinch the intestines which is VERY dangerous and would require surgery.

Pace Makers

These magnets, should not be used in close proximity to a pace maker as they could potentially interfere with the pace maker. We recommend that you speak with your doctor. Read more. If this is of concern to you, call us and we will substitute a zipper door that is more difficult to use but non-magnetic.

How to Insert Fiberglass Rods

  • Insert up into the side bindings for a clean edge
  • 10ft in length and can be cut to size
  • Improves the hold of either magnets or marine snaps
  • Are flexible enough to swag your curtains
  • We recommend 2 rods per panel (ALL panels)

How to Place Magnets

  • We provide a tool to insert powerful block-shaped magnets into the side bindings
  • Easily exit and reseal doorway
  • Enables you to seal doorways above reach
  • Space magnet pairings every 12-24" depending on wind
