Vinyl and Aluminum Siding
Velcro® tape attachment By now you've heard us talk about nailing, screwing and staple gunning, something you would never do on vinyl or aluminum siding. For mounting using Velcro® tape attachment, generally the adhesive-backed Velcro® tape will adhere without reinforcing it with a staple gun. Unlike wood, vinyl and aluminum are not porous and don't absorb moisture.

Our adhesive is an acrylic-based adhesive and is very strong. It does however, have a curing period. For the best hold, wait 24 hours before attaching your curtain. You will still need to secure the two upper corners of any panel with either marine snaps or some other improvised fixed attachment.

Tracking attachment - Our tracking can only be mounted with wood screws which gives you two options. You can either locate a wood stud beneath the vinyl or aluminum, or you can perhaps mount a 1" x 2" wood strip to your ceiling surface and then screw the track into the wood strip.

Securing the sides of your curtain with Velcro® tape If you request, we will double stitch loop sided Velcro® to the side binding of your curtain and provide you with adhesive backed Velcro to place on your siding. While the stitched Velcro is continuous along the side binding, you only need to place 4-6" adhesive-backed hook Velcro® strips every 2-3 feet.

A little trick to ensure that the adhesive doesn't pull away from your siding is to first, round any corners of the adhesive strip with scissors making an OVAL shape. Apply a touch of adhesive around the perimeter of the 4-6" strip once it is in place. You can phone in the request to have Velcro stitched to the side bindings of your curtain or specify when checking out.

Use a vertical wood strip for securing sides While you can't very well screw or nail into Vinyl or Aluminum siding, you can screw and nail into wood. A wood strip (like a 1" x 2") can be wedged into place between ceiling and floor with a little extra help with a floor and ceiling "L-bracket". Now you can use marine snaps into the wood strip.
